Gone to Sleep
It takes weeks, even years, to write a song. NPR Music’s Project Song challenges musicians to do it in just two days. And every Project Song participant has worked right up to the last minute — that is, until Moby.
This is my favourite song of the year, so far.
UPDATE: I couldn’t the find the lyrics anywhere, so I transcribe the song myself.
Thin light escapes
We run fast and we wait
All the time we wait, all the days we playedSomewhere there’s a Sunday in the fall,
Where you love is safe and warm,
Where everything was right
But I’m never goin’ homeMidnight is long
The life I knew is gone
There is nothing that I’ve ever seen
Darker than it’s ever beenSomewhere there’s a Sunday in the fall,
Where you love is safe and warm,
Where everything was right
But I’m never goin’ homeThe Sun is gone
The lights have gone to sleep
I never knew the dark would be so deep
Somewhere you are warm
But I’m never goin’ homeSomewhere there’s a Sunday in the fall,
Where you love is safe and warm,
Where everything was right
But I’m never goin’ home

48 ώρες, μόνο? Είμαι λίγο καχύποπτος. Όπως και να έχει κομματάρα.
